TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Minimum entry age is eighteen (18) years, and maximum entry age is seventy four (74) years.
  2. Joining fee is R100.00 is payable with the first premium of each policy.
  3. Any policy which has been incepted by the 7th of the current month, will only be active on the 1st of the following month.
  4. Three (3) months waiting period for main members, spouse and children under twenty one (21) years, three (3) months waiting period for extended members and pensioners.
  5. Immediate accidental death cover provided the joining fee and the first premium have been paid.
  6. Twenty-four (24) months waiting period for suicidal death.
  7. Free transport for collection, delivery and burial service within the distance of 1000km to and from. Then R7.50 per running kilometre will be charged for kilometres above 1000km.
  8. The policy is provided on a month to month basis, therefore there are no surrender values if cover lapses.
  9. Payments must be made on or before the 7th of each month. Policy will lapse automatically if payments are not made on or before the last day of the 3rd consistent month.
  10. Payments are required to secure a member's benefits and shall be paid from commencement date.
  11. There will be no refunds on policies.
  12. If premiums are in arrears, then no service shall be honoured.
  13. If a cover lapse, then 6 months waiting period will apply to all re-joining policies.
  14. Active children above the age of 21 years will remain in the policy as an extended family member and cover will be provided at a cost. No waiting period for extended children.
  15. Any child prevented by disability to maintain him/herself above the age of 21 will be covered regadless of age. Medical certificate is required.
  16. Active policy covers children under the age of 21 years and up to 25 years if proof of full-time student registration is supplied.
  17. Registration of new born babies should be done within a month after birth. Failure to register, 3 months waiting period will apply. Birth certificate should be submitted on registration.
  18. Claims should be lodged within 6 months period aand all documents of deceased should be provided, failure of which wil result in the forfeiture of benefits.
  19. When upgrading a cover or policy, 3 months waiting period will apply to upgraded cover not the current cover. The initial cover benefits will be in place during the period of probation.
  20. In respect of the surname difference of spouse, any one of the following will be accepted:
    • Certified copy of marriage certificate.
    • Certified copy of confirmation of customary union.
    • Certified copy of confirmation letter from traditional council office.
  21. One spouse is allowed as a dependent of the main member. Any other spouses will be covered under extended family member premiums.
  22. In respect of surname differences of a child, any one of the following will be accepted:
    • Certified copy of registration birth certificate reflecting parrents.
    • Certified copy of baptismal certificate reflecting parent's details.
    • Certified copy of adoption papers recommended by the social welfare.
